Description - Cinnamon organic essential oil

100% pure essential oil, certified ORGANIC

Cinnamon is one of the oldest spices known to mankind. It dates back to ancient times when it was used by the Egyptians for embalming purposes. It is mainly used in cooking as a condiment and for seasoning.

Its essential oil is obtained by steam distillation of the bark. In this process, the volatile components (essential oil) of the bark are entrained with the steam. The steam then condenses in the essential oil separator, separating the essential oils from the hydrolate (water).

This spice has numerous properties :

  • Thanks to its essential oil
  • Cinnamon helps to maintain normal blood glucose levels, and intestinal comfort, and aids digestion
  • It helps to maintain normal blood lipid levels and promotes the production of HDL cholesterol (i.e. good cholesterol)
  • It also helps to keep the upper airways healthy and possesses significant anti-oxidising and stimulating properties

Our cinnamon, Cinnamomum verum, essential oil is 100% pure and natural, and is obtained using Organic Production methods. The cinnamon tree is also known as Cinnamomum zylanicum or Ceylon Cinnamon Tree. It should not be confused with Chinese cinnamon, the quality of which is not as good.

What does EOBBD mean?

EOBBD stands for Essential Oils Botanically and Biochemically Defined.

From a botanical perspective, this means that the following are identified :

  • the organ of the plant that produces the essential oil
  • the precise botanical Latin name
  • the country of origin

In biochemical terms, the plant chemotype is fully defined by means of chromatography (laboratory analysis of the substances it contains). This is carried out for each new batch of essential oil.

This label also specifies that the essential oils are 100% pure and natural.
