Aloe vera or Aloe barbadensis Miller is a succulent, perennial plant belonging to the Asparagaceae family. Aloe vera is often found in tropical countries with a warm, dry climate. It also blooms in the Northern Hemisphere as it is a sturdy plant that is easy to grow. There are over 200 varieties of aloe but aloe vera has the highest concentration of active ingredients. In fact, it contains almost 80 including vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes, etc.
